VCE Data SERVICE Workshops

Philip Holmes-Smith can tailor a VCE Data Service professional learning program to assist you in interpreting what the VCE Data Service tells you about your school’s VCE results. In the past Phil has conducted 1½hr briefings and half-day workshops for:

·         school leadership teams including faculty heads,

·         all VCE staff within one school,

·         principal and staff representatives across a network, and

·         principal and staff representatives across a whole Region/Diocese.

Topics include the following options:

·         Gaining an overview of your school’s performance – the Combined Studies Report,

·         Analysing outright results from single studies,

·         Analysing GAT results by study,

·         Understanding Adjusted Scores by study – understanding ”value-added“ measures,

·         Analysing ”value-adding“ for individual students by study.

As a whole-day workshop, Secondary Schools may also wish to combine this activity with one or more of the P-10 Student Performance Data workshops.
